BJC requirements

For MKJC to run a BJC we need a suitably large venue, an experienced team and a show venue.

As of May 2014 we are currently looking for a suitable venue. We don’t plan to run a BJC more than 30 miles from Milton Keynes.

As a team we have now run four one-day conventions. The first had about 100 paying attendees and made a profit of about £100. The second had about 200 paying attendees and made a profit of about £300. The third year had about 200 people and made about £200. The fourth year again had about 200 people and made about £300. £150 of the money made in 2012 went to BJC2013 to help with their loss.

Last year we had a much colder day than in previous years and didn’t have onsite caretakers for most of the time and so the main hall was colder than previous years as heating was minimal. This shouldn’t be a problem this year.

As a main organiser for MKJC, Nigel helped to organise BJC2014 to gain experience with organising a larger event.
